Flame cutting is used to cut steel by means of a chemical reaction of oxygen with the base metal at elevated temperatures.
The combination of pure oxygen and propane as a fuel gas produces a clean accurate cut face which in some applications may require additional machining as this creates a heat affected zone around the cut edges.
The use of multi head cutting machines means the process is suitable for individual or high batch production runs. Along with fully computerised CAD-CAM software maximum utilisation is achieved during manufacture.
● Application: Carbon ,stainless& Alloy steels
● Cutting Range: 6mm – 170mm thick (thicker material available on request)
● Cutting Area: from 50mm
Flame cutting is a popular “added value” service of our business and we cut steel for clients internationally. We have our own computerised multihead profiling machines which directly link to Autocad – we can therefore take your drawing and use it as a working template to cut the steel to your requirements.
1:Cut and Roll Grooving for Standard and Line Pipe
Our Steel Pipe provides both Cut Grooving and Roll Grooving. Cut and roll grooving can be done in any style according to industry standards. It can be applied to any length of pipe ranging from 1"-48" diameters.
2:Pipe Threading
Threaded pipes can provide an effective seal for pipes transporting liquids, gases, steam, and hydraulic fluid. We thread any length of pipe in diameters ranging from 1/8" thru 20". Tapers available are NPT*, NPS*, 3/16" Peerless, and 8 round taper.
3:Pipe Beveling
We can apply any type of Bevel to any degree required. Beveling can applied to the face of any size or diameter of pipe.
4:Custom Designed and Fabricated
Offering customized drawing design and confirmation services for special-shaped pipes, fittings, and valves etc. From design, drawing confirmation, to final product.
5:Pipe Slotting
Slots furnished in sizes from 1.900 to 20 OD. Our slot size capabilities range from 0.012” to .500” and ¼” – ½” round holes. All of our machines use a continuous flow of biodegradable coolants to maintain the pipe’s metallurgical integrity. We are capable of creating complete turnkey packages as easily as we can slot or perforate customer-owned materials.
Pipe welding or pipe connection is a method where two pipes are joined together. This process can be achieved by various welding methods, such as arc welding, MIG welding, TIG welding and several other welding techniques. We weld all kinds of piping constructions of different sizes and shapes.
1:SMAW: SHIELDED METAL ARC WELDING
Shielded metal arc welding, frequently referred to as stick welding, is a very common and popular method of welding. It is typically used in construction, steel fabrication, pipeline work and for repairing heavy equipment.
2:GMAW: GAS METAL ARC WELDING
This type of welding—also called MIG (Metal Inert Gas) Welding—also uses a consumable electrode. However, in MIG welding, the electrode is a solid wire that is constantly fed through the welding gun. MIG welding machines are designed to accommodate varying sizes and gauges of these welding wires.
3:GTAW: GAS TUNGSTEN ARC WELDING
This type of welding is known by several common names—TIG Welding, Heliarc Welding and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding. Unlike the other types of welding mentioned so far, this type does not use a consumable electrode. Instead, the welder uses an external rod to create the molten metal needed to forge the weld.
The basic plasma cutting process involves creating an electrical channel of superheated, electrically ionized gas (i.e. plasma) from the plasma cutter itself, through the work piece to be cut, thus forming a completed electric circuit back to the plasma cutter via a grounding clamp. This is accomplished by a compressed gas which is blown through a focused nozzle at high speed toward the work piece.
An electrical arc is then formed within the gas, between an electrode near or integrated into the gas nozzle and the work piece itself. The electrical arc ionizes some of the gas, thereby creating an electrically conductive channel of plasma. As electricity from the cutter torch travels down this plasma it delivers sufficient heat to melt through the work piece. At the same time, much of the high velocity plasma and compressed gas blow the hot molten metal away, thereby separating i.e. cutting through the work piece.
CNC tables allow a computer to control the torch head producing clean sharp cuts. Our CNC plasma equipment is capable of multi-axis cutting of thick material, allowing opportunities for complex welding seams that are not possible otherwise.
Flame Cutting, also known as Oxy Acetylene Cutting, Oxy Fuel Gas Cutting, Oxygen Burning, among other names, is the process that uses fuel gases and oxygen to cut metals.
Pure oxygen, instead of air, is used to increase the flame temperature to allow localized melting of the steel in a room temperature environment.
Carbon Steel Profiles Limited has extensive processing capability to accommodate steel plate processing up to 24 inches in thickness, 120 inches in width and 480 inches in length.
Blanchard Grinding gets its name from the machines that are used to perform the process, made by the Blanchard Machine Company. The process is technically referred to as rotary surface grinding. Blanchard Grinding removes large amounts of stock from one side of a part, quickly and efficiently.
All work pieces being ground receive the same treatment resulting in uniform size and surface finish. Blanchard Grinding is ideal for surfaces too large for disc grinding, such as plate stock and die blocks.

Plate processing by Carbon Steel Profiles Limited typically represents the first of many operations in the processing cycle required to produce finished goods. Subsequent operations may include Heat treating, Forming, Fabrication, Machining, Assembly and Surface Finishing. All processing operations are optimized to minimize secondary processing by customers and are controlled by Carbon Steel Profiles Limited through documented work practices, interactive supervision, training and a recognized Quality Management System.
Profile Cutting is complimented by additional post processing operations such as:
Automated Deburring
Edge Beveling
Shearing
Blanchard Grinding
Plate milling
Mechanical Cleaning
Milling Tumbling
Ultrasonic Testing
